Update from Softball Alberta...

Note from the Club

Hello River City family,

The health and safety of our athletes and families is of utmost importance to us. In the light of the current health issue regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have come up with some best practices we are asking our coaches and players to observe.
While the likelihood of any of our athletes becoming sick due to this virus is low, we recognize that the disease can be transferred to susceptible members of the community. With that in mind, we would like to make clear that any scheduled team practice or function is completely optional. If you are not comfortable sending your child, please keep them at home. Obviously, if your child IS sick, or showing signs of virus symptoms, please do NOT allow them to attend any team activities. If your child has been out of the country, or has been in contact with someone out of the country in the last 14 days, please keep them home as well.
As per current Softball Alberta best practices, we will be asking our athletes to wash their hands prior to the start of any team activity, and continuing to wash their hands every thirty minutes. All equipment will be sanitized at the start of practice, and on a regular basis throughout the practice. We are asking our athletes to limit physical contact with others. (eg. No high fives, hugs, etc.) A more detailed list can be found on softballalberta.ca
Coaches will be limiting group sizes to reduce the potential of person to person contact. For example, if ten athletes are scheduled for a two hour practice, we may have one group of five come for the first hour, and another group of five come for the second hour.

Use your best judgement, and err on the side of safety.

Play and Win Like a Champ today

We bring in a lot of college coaches, professional athlete trainers and specialists to impart their wisdom on our club members, and sometimes they like to leave that knowledge in writing.

Check out our blog posts and skills & drills section to learn more about developing your skills with our River City Softball Club.

You gotta beat the best to be the best.

Our club teams do just that. In addition to league play, our teams participate in numerous tournaments throughout the season.  We strive to participate and succeed in championship tournaments such as Provincials, Western Canadians, and Nationals. Historically River City has had success at all of these levels of championship play. In 2018 we placed in all age levels in Provincials and our U14 team took the Gold at Western Canadians!

Our Sponsors

We wouldn't be successful without the generous support of our sponsors, both those individuals and companies that support our teams or our program as a whole.

Rivercity Softball would like to thank InMotion Network for their generous contribution to our Competition Introduction Coaching Clinic. With their assistance we are able to train and certify fourteen young female coaches allowing them to continue to grow the game.
