Rivercity's Becki Monaghan signs with Jayhawks

posted Nov 15, 2015,

Great news this weekend for River City's very own Becki Monaghan...

http://www.kuathletics.com/news/2015/11/12/SB_1112154951.aspx

Becki's comments during her official visit at the University of Kansas on Friday Nov.13th: "I am extremely proud to be signed to become a University of Kansas Jayhawk.  The Jayhawks are a top ranked NCAA Division One Softball program and it's been a dream to play in the NCAA and now to be able to become a Jayhawk is truly a dream come true.  I am so thankful and feel honoured to have the opportunity to play for Coach Smith and her coaching staff with the Jayhawks and am thankful for all who have had a role in my development including and most significantly the Edmonton River City Hornets and Coach Rob Campbell.  While here at the University of Kansas I have spent two days with my future team mates, including the other 2016 recruits and I cannot wait for the day I begin play at Rock Chalk Park as a Jayhawk here in Kansas."

Becki is also a former member of Team Canada's Junior National Team where she won a Gold Medal at the Canada Cup of Softball... We are so incredibly proud of Becki!
